Garden Building Installation & Construction
Q. Do I have to do my own clearance and groundwork prior to construction?
A. Prior to your garden building construction, it is important that the site is cleared and accessible to enable ground works to take place. This is to ensure that we are able install our ground screws or alternative footings and provide a firm foundation for years to come.
Here at Create A Space, we offer to clear and prepare the site before the build begins. During this stage, we can dispose of any waste, including undergrowth, trees, a rotting shed, a derelict garage or any other materials.
Q. Do Create A Space check the site prior to installation?
A. Yes, we do. Here at Create A Space, we offer a free site survey service once we’ve discussed your options over the phone. During the survey, we visit the space where you would like a garden building constructed and can also provide you with an estimate.
Q. How long does it take to build a garden room?
A. Depending on the size and intricacies of the project this will affect the length of time it takes. Our team will work on the site every working day (subject to weather and health) until the project is completed.
To give you an idea of project length, the garden music room we built for a customer was completed over a period of 10 days with two men on site for the duration. However, others have been longer (within 4 weeks) if the requirements are a little more complex and bespoke.
Q. Do you use subcontractors for your installations?
A. We don’t use subcontractors. This means that we can ensure close communication with our clients throughout the duration of the project. You will have access to the sales team, build team and the owners at all times. No disappearing self-employed salesmen or build teams here!
Garden room specific & bespoke options
Q. Can I install a toilet or shower in my garden room?
A. Yes, we can install toilet and/ or shower and bathroom facilities inside a garden room. Many of our clients request an en-suite as part of their garden building, as well as the building having fully functioning heating and electricity.
Q. Can you provide a bespoke garden room?
A. Yes, we do. In fact, that’s part of our USP Here at Create A Space Ltd. We offer attractive, top quality, bespoke garden buildings and rooms at very affordable prices. Our company motto is: you visualise it, we build it!
We have had previous customers ask for bespoke options, such as WC suite facilities, shower room capabilities, kitchenettes, and even hidden bike storage!
Q. What can I use a garden building for?
A. Garden buildings can be used for a wide variety of different purposes and activities. Some of our customers use their new garden space as an office building, for recreational activities and hobbies such as crafts or playing and composing music. While others use their garden room space for entertainment and to house friends, family and other visitors.
Whether you’d like a garden room to be used as a garden office, spare bedroom, gym or yoga studio, music and chillout room, arts & crafts studio, a cinema room or simply just somewhere additional to store your bikes, we have the perfect solution for you. Remember: you visualise it, we build it!
Q. Are the buildings insulated?
A. Yes, we build using SIPs (a Structural Insulated Panel); they are exceptionally well insulated, with fewer thermal bridges than traditional and alternative timber builds. This means that our customers can enjoy their outdoor space all year round!
Q. Can the building be used all year round?
A. Yes, you can. This is because all our garden rooms are fully insulated, meaning that you can enjoy the extra space, no matter the season or weather outside.
Q. Can we get electricity installed in our garden room?
A. Yes, depending on your individual requirements, we can provide you with electricity in your bespoke garden room.
Q. Do garden rooms come in different sizes?
A. All the garden rooms and buildings built by Create A Space Ltd are bespoke and tailored to each individual customer. The size of our garden buildings are dependent on space, therefore, our garden rooms can be built in a variety of different sizes to accommodate many different sized gardens and outdoor areas.
Q. Do I need planning permission for a garden room?
A. Many of our garden buildings don’t require planning permission, and can be built in a relatively short amount of time.
